| Clark County Youth Plant Over 1,000 Trees |
||
Clark County youth have planted 1,058 tree seedlings and expanded their knowledge of conservation issues over the past 10 years as a result of the Clark County Conservation District’s continual Youth Education Outreach Project. Each spring, elementary students are presented with Soil & Water Stewardship activity booklets addressing topics that deal with the conservation of such things as healthy soil, clean water, gifts trees provide, importance of wildlife, providing good habitats, recycling, and caring for our natural resources. Students are then asked to create a poster featuring the topic for that year. Each student completing a poster receives a tree seedling to take home and plant with their family. Posters are displayed at the conservation district
office throughout the summer and fall. We receive many positive comments
on our unique, creative artwork! |
