Lake Vermillion Outdoor Classroom

The Outdoor Classroom at Lake Vermillion was the conclusion of many ideas & a group of partners that helped to make this happen. Partners on this project were: Department of Ag; G, F & P-parks & wildlife division; Shaw Fabric Enterprises; Tree Pro, Inc.; Reed Tieszen; NRCS & The Lake Vermillion Association. This project consists of 30 different varieties of trees & shrubs (both conifers & decidous) & 8 types of native grasses. By planting & maintaining this classroom we are providing an outdoor experience for elementary & high school students, individuals & organizations to learn about our natural resources. The district also provides educational materials to be used by the teachers or group leaders at this site.
