If you're newer to working in agriculture or natural resources in South Dakota, ANR Connections is a great way to build your understanding and confidence.
This program offers a broad, real-world look at South Dakota’s agricultural systems, from planting and livestock production all the way through harvest. Along the way, participants learn directly from experienced professionals, connect with producers, and gain practical insight they can apply in their work.
What to Expect
Participants will take part in a mix of learning opportunities, including:
In-person sessions (welcome and wrap-up events)
Hands-on tours of farms, ranches, and ag operations
Live Zoom discussions to ask questions and connect with others
Self-paced videos to learn at your own pace
This combination allows participants to see how agriculture works in real life while also building connections across the state.

June 18 – Beef Cattle Tour (Ideal)
July 1 – Swine Tour (Brookings)
July 31 – Specialty Ag Tour (location TBD)
Week of August 11 – Dairy Tour (exact date TBD)
August 31 – Wrap-Up & Celebration (location TBD)

Registration Details
Registration includes online materials, in-person sessions, meals/snacks, and transportation during tours (if needed).
Participants or their organizations are responsible for travel to meeting locations.
