The South Dakota Local Foods Conference has been a hub for learning and connecting among local food producers and enthusiasts. This event aims to improve how we grow and enjoy local foods in South Dakota. It's a chance to honor our farmers, food lovers, and industry pros committed to building stronger communities and fairer food systems through sustainable farming, strong partnerships, and community education.

Bringing diverse voices together to highlight & support the South Dakota local food system.
Educating on how local and regional food systems operate.
Supporting potential, beginning, and current producers to be successful on their farms & ranches.
Expanding access to and consumption of local and regional food across South Dakota.
Increasing recognition for the value of local food to South Dakota communities, economies, and rural vitality.
Highlighting the role of Indigenous food systems and Tribal food sovereignty in our state.
Amplifying historically marginalized voices and highlighting innovators in sustainable food production.
Creating opportunities to network & get to know your local foods community.
What's In Store:
This yearly event serves as a platform to showcase the latest efforts to promote local foods in South Dakota. It brings together farmers, consumers, stores, restaurants, chefs, and supporters from all over the state.
Attendees can look forward to hearing from famous speakers, learning from local experts in various sessions, visiting farms to see innovative and eco-friendly farming practices, networking at social events and through an exhibitor fair, and savoring delicious meals made from locally sourced foods.
